Organization description: March of Dimes works toward the day when no one will live through the agony of having a very sick newborn, or an infant that will have lifelong health problems. WalkAmerica is its largest fundraising event of the year.

Volunteer opportunities: WalkAmerica in Juneau will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, beginning and ending at the Alaskan and Proud market parking lot. Volunteers are needed to assist with hanging banners and setting up the route, cleaning up at the end and other tasks. To help out, meet Beth at the parking lot any time from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It's not too late to be a walker. Registration for walkers begins at 9 a.m. Alaskan and Proud will host a barbecue for all participants at the end of the walk.
