FAIRBANKS - A Fairbanks man has lost an appeal of his 82-year prison term for killing and dismembering an acquaintance while under the influence of methamphetamine.
The state Court of Appeals upheld 24-year-old Jason Fisher's sentence this week.
Fisher was sentenced last August in connection with the May 2004 slaying of 23-year-old David Mason, a former U.S. Army serviceman.
Court records say Mason's head was found in June 2004 in an abandoned vehicle registered to Fisher.
Fisher was arrested in October 2005 after two witnesses said he shot and killed Mason before dismembering his body.
