FAIRBANKS - Alaska State Troopers say DNA evidence helped them catch a 26-year-old suspect in the robbery of a Fairbanks area credit union.
Jonathan Millington-Walton of Fairbanks is charged with robbery and theft in connection with the June 2008 robbery of the Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union on Geist Road.
Authorities say a man wearing a tan balaclava, baseball cap and blue hooded sweat shirt held up the credit union and fled with several thousand dollars.
Police found the money at a campground along with a pistol and clothing worn by the robber.
According to authorities, the state crime detection laboratory matched the DNA on the clothing to Millington-Walton after he was charged this week with assaulting his girlfriend.
