Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Driving while intoxicated:

• Floyd Wood, 40, was arrested for drunken driving at 12:11 a.m. Thursday near outbound Egan Drive and McDonald's restaurant. He was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center and his car was impounded.


• An 18-year-old man was arrested for assault at 3:37 a.m. Thursday after getting in a fight near Riverside Drive and Melvin Park. He was additionally charged with criminal mischief and minor consuming. He was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Vehicle accidents:

• At 12:55 p.m. Wednesday, a 52-year-old man reported his 2003 Dodge pickup truck had been involved in a hit-and-run accident. The rear quarter panel sustained $725 in damage.

• A 57-year-old man was cited for careless driving at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday after his 1997 Chevy Astro was involved in a three-car accident with a 1992 Jeep Cherokee and a 2002 Toyota near Egan Drive and Mendenhall Loop Road.

• At 11:19 p.m. Wednesday, a 37-year-old man reported his gray Chevrolet pickup truck was hit while parked near Admiral Way. The right-rear quarter panel sustained $250 in damage.

• A 1996 Mercury and a 1998 Jeep Cherokee were involved in a two-car accident reported at 7:20 a.m. Thursday near Third Street and the Douglas Depot. The Mercury sustained $4,000 in damage, and the Cherokee sustained $500 in damage.

Bear complaint:

• At 11:13 p.m. Wednesday, a 55-year-old man reported seeing a bear eating garbage near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek.

• At 1:05 a.m. Thursday, a 34-year-old woman reported a bear trying to barge into her home near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek.
