JUNEAU - A Juneau man who police said was driving drunk suffered minor injuries in a single-car accident Saturday on Glacier Highway near Wal-Mart.

Mark Hutter, 21, was arrested on charges of drunken driving and driving with a suspended license after being treated and released from Bartlett Regional Hospital on Saturday.

Hutter was traveling north on the highway, passing cars and driving at a high rate of speed at about 10:15 p.m. when he passed a car near a construction zone and lost control of his vehicle, police said. His vehicle hit the sidewalk, flew into the trees on the side of the road and flipped over, then came to rest in the middle of the road, a witness told police.

Hutter was thrown into the back seat of the car during the accident.

He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on $500 bail.
