Thanks to all who participated in the community-wide clean up at the beginning of May. Seeing the bags of collected trash and recyclables is a bittersweet sign of success. We have willing citizens who lend a hand, but every year there's stuff to clean up.
On the way to Thane in the afternoon, I saw evidence of remarkable activity: cabinets and even a refrigerator brought to the side of the road. It must have taken more than one person to find, rig and hoist those large objects up the bluff from the shore. Perhaps it was a group of Scouts? Whoever took the time to do that great job deserves the title of hero.
Don't forget, some places will have to be visited again, now that the snow is gone.
