KETCHIKAN - Three people have applied to complete the term of Ketchikan Mayor Bob Weinstein, who resigned to take a job with U.S. Sen. Mark Begich.

The applicants are Devon Blunden, Charles Edwardson and Lew Williams III, a city councilman.

Blunden listed a Ran Ramon, Calif., mailing address. He wrote in his application that he was going to graduate from college soon and needed a job.

Edwardson, a lifelong Ketchikan resident, has been a Ketchikan Indian Community Tribal Council member and is a former president of the Ketchikan Homebuilders Association. He narrowly lost a race in October for a Ketchikan City Council seat.

Williams has 20 years experience as a councilman.

The city council will appoint Weinstein's replacement.
