Former Juneau resident Richard L. Stragier died on May 8, 2010 in Marysville, Wash. He was 62.
He was born in Juneau on April 20, 1948 to parents George and Dorothy Stragier. He graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School and eventually moved north to Prudhoe Bay where he worked on the pipeline. After that, he was employed with Boeing in Seattle before returning to Alaska to work for Petro Star in Valdez. In his life, he enjoyed aviation and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Stragier, and his son, Douglas Stragier.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Stragier; brother, Dan Stragier, and sister, Jan Kirchgraber.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. in Auburn, Wash.
