Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• A 25-year-old woman was placed under citizens arrest for assault at 1:39 a.m. Sunday near Glacier Highway. Police believe alcohol was a factor in this incident. She was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

• Police arrested a man, 36, for domestic violence assault at 3:34 a.m. Sunday in the downtown Douglas area. Police believe alcohol was a factor in this incident. He was lodged at the state prison.


• A man reported at 6:20 a.m. Sunday from Glacier Highway the theft of a Blaupunkt CD/Radio, valued at $200, from his pickup truck.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• A man reported at 7:39 a.m. Saturday from Linda Avenue that the windshield of his 1996 Pontiac Grand Am was smashed sometime between midnight and 9 a.m. Saturday. Damage is estimated at $570.

• A man reported at 2:14 p.m. Saturday from Mendenhall Loop Road and Montana Creek Road that a rock was thrown through the windshield of his blue and silver 1996 Chevy truck while he was driving.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited and released two 15 year-old girls, a boy, 17, and a woman, 18, for underage drinking at midnight Sunday near Stikine Street.

• Police cited a 15-year-old girl for underage drinking at 1:27 a.m. today near Stikine Street. She was taken to the Johnson Youth Center for a 12-hour hold.

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported Saturday at 2 p.m. near Behrends Avenue, 10:13 p.m. near Delta Drive and 10:17 p.m. near Delta Drive. Bears were reported Sunday at 1:42 a.m. near Lawson Creek Road, 10:34 a.m. near Abby Way in Lemon Creek, 9:47 p.m. near Raven Road and 11:19 p.m. near Gastineau Avenue.

Alcohol-related calls: 5.
