Storytime goes on recess until June 6

The Juneau Public Libraries will be on storytime recess from May 15 until June 6. The summer reading program "Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds" will begin on June 6. For more information, call 586-0435.

Relay For Life captains to meet Wednesday

Team captains of the Juneau Relay For Life event will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the DIPAC-Macauley Hatchery building conference room. Each team is encouraged to send a representative to the meeting.

The Juneau-Douglas Relay for Life, a 16-hour event for the American Cancer Society, will be held from 4 p.m. July 16 to 8 a.m. July 17, at the Dimond Park-Riverbend Elementary School area.

Teams from companies, churches, organizations, hospitals, and schools are encouraged to sign up for the event. At about midnight, the luminary service will take place in memory of cancer victims and in honor of cancer survivors.

Co-op nursery school takes applications

The Juneau Co-op Nursery School is taking applications for children 18 months through 3 years old for fall 2005. The school is a parent-run cooperative located downstairs in the Northern Light Church at 400 11th St. Semester tuition is $40.

The fall registration meeting will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Northern Light Church.

Pool to be closed for yearly maintenance

The Augustus Brown Swimming Pool will be closed for yearly maintenance beginning Monday through Sunday, May 29. The pool will reopen May 30.
