Governor's picnic scheduled

JUNEAU - Gov. Sean Parnell announced Wednesday he would hold his annual Governor's Family Picnic in Juneau on June 24 from 4-7 p.m. at Sandy Beach.

The picnics have been held for more than a decade, but only recently began being held in Juneau as well. Other Governor's Family Picnics this summer will be held in Anchorage and Fairbanks.

The picnics are made possible by donations from Alaska businesses and with volunteer labor, the Governor's office said.
