Juneau-Douglas High School students Jaret Reid, left, and Jason Brooks attempt to row their cardboard boat at the Augustus Brown Swimming Pool today. The pair was participating in a geometry project with 150 other students who designed and built boats out of cardboard. Half of the project grade was dependent on getting the waterline right on students' boats and the other half was awarded if they could row the boats down and back in the pool, once for an A and twice for extra credit.
Pat Lumba, front, flips over backward as he and fellow Juneau- Douglas High School student Reid Dihle are capsized in their raft made of cardboard at the Augustus Brown Swimming Pool this morning.
