Drive carefully for kids

Letter to the editor

Not a moment goes by that I don't think of my son, Skyler Lee Kim. My heart aches every day without him. All our hopes, wishes and dreams gone in an instant. I still deal with the acceptance every day but am happy for some of the things that have been accomplished since his death. Finally, a school zone, hopefully offering safe passage for our kids. Yellow signs warning of people crossing, and a lighted stairway to the overpass. Plus the memorial sign, which I want to thank DOT for having a program to apply for it.

But I'm writing this to warn drivers that summer is just around the corner. And that means kids will be everywhere - biking, walking, running, skateboarding - everywhere.

Please, I beg of all of you - watch for them, drive carefully and be aware of everything around you. These kids are the future. Let's make sure they have one.
