WRANGELL - Gov. Sarah Palin has signed two bills, one extending the boating safety program and the other temporarily suspending the experience cap for teachers.
Palin signed both bills Wednesday during two stops in Southeast.
In Wrangell, she signed House Bill 151 extending the Statewide Boating and Safety and Education program to 2011. The program allows the state to receive federal funding.
In Petersburg, Palin signed House Bill 215. This repeals for two years the salary scale limits for hiring out-of-state teachers. The bill allows schools incentives to attract experienced personnel for hard-to-fill positions.
