Juneau resident Andrew James Johnnie Sr. died May 20, 2002, in Juneau.
He was born March 7, 1921, in Saxman, to James and Lily Johnnie. He served in the Alaska Territorial Guard.
His family says he was one of the great men who liked to help solve problems.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Williams Johnnie; sons August Johnnie, Andy Johnnie and Thomas Johnnie; daughter Pauline Case; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Memorial and funeral services start at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at the Tlingit-Haida Community Building on Hospital Drive, followed by a potluck. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Evergreen Park.
Pallbearers will be Eric Williams, Darren Weathers, Tom Mooney, Russel Ford, Percy Douglas, Chuck Miller, Greg Martin, Gary Martin and Nelson Dushane. Honorary pallbearers will be John Wilson Jr., Raymond Wilson, Donald Wilson, John Martin, Al Martin, Marianne Wilson, Norma Wilson, Herriot Roberts, Beatrice Wilson, David Davis Sr., Hermon Davis Sr. and Jake White Sr.
