Juneau resident Juan Manuel Cutino MacFarlane died May 19, 2002, in Juneau.
He was born Sept. 8, 1972, in Mazatlan, Mexico. He was a 2002 graduate of the University of Alaska Southeast, receiving a bachelor of liberal arts degree in communication with an emphasis in creative writing. He was a homemaker, father and a good neighbor.
He is survived by his wife, Christine MacFarlane of Juneau; their daughters Elizabeth Ann and Elena Noel of Juneau; mother Ann MacFarlane of Juneau; and father Jose Luis Cutino Morales of Mazatlan.
Services will be held at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church on Sunday, May 26, 2002, at 3 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be W. Ron Dangeli, Leonard Robertson, Shaun McMahon, Kevin Craig, Nick Neipert, William Underwood, Dave Nugent, Kevin Johnson, Jerry Carpenter, Mike Kirchner, Jack Schmidt and Liam Higgins.
A party in honor of his life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2002, at Sandy Beach. All friends and acquaintances are encouraged to bring food and stories to share; there will be designated drivers and child care.
A college fund has been set up for Elizabeth and Elena MacFarlane at the First National Bank of Anchorage, 8990 Glacier Highway, attention Lisa Loupe.
