KETCHIKAN - Ketchikan homeowners Debi and Hunter Davis recently uncovered a cache of 1925 newspapers when renovating their home.
The papers include editions of the Ketchikan Alaska Chronicle, The Seattle Daily Times, Seattle Post-Intelligencer and The Seattle Star.
All are legible, and most are well-preserved. They were found under a piece of linoleum.
Among events making headlines was the Scopes Monkey Trial.
Hunter Davis said, "It's like opening your own little time capsule or time vault."
Davis said he doesn't know what they'll do with the old newspapers yet.
