6.0 quake strikes off Aleutian Island chain

ATTU - A strong undersea earthquake struck in the North Pacific Ocean near the western end of the Aleutian Islands.

The Alaska Earthquake Information said the 6.0 preliminary magnitude quake hit at 5:53 a.m. Tuesday, about 273 miles east-southeast of Attu.
