Former Juneau resident Ellen M. Frobese, 93, died May 18, 2002, in Sequim, Wash.
She was born Dec. 28, 1908, in Finland, and moved to Aberdeen, Wash., in 1909 at the age of 3 months. She lived in Aberdeen until 1935 when she moved with her husband, George Harju, to Juneau. Mr. Harju died in 1954. She lived in Juneau until 1967 and then moved to Sitka with her second husband Fred Frobese. They moved to Port Angeles, Wash., in 1970.
She enjoyed knitting, bowling, dancing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; her son Leonard Harju; and grandsons John Harju and George Harju.
She is survived by daughter-in-law Joan Harju; grandsons Frank Harju and David Harju; granddaughter Doriann Leith; and six great-grandchildren.
