Vaughn connects on two-run hit for Suns

The Juneau Midnight Suns 12-and-under softball team battled the Schoenbar Knights from Ketchikan to a 6-6 tie on Friday.

Megan Mauseth pitched a complete game for the Suns in the tie. She went five innings, struck out four, allowed three hits and walked four in the draw.

Schoenbar used three different pitchers and limited the Midnight Suns to only one hit in five innings.

For the Suns, Miranda Vaughn connected on her team's lone hit. She had a two-run hit and scored two runs for the Midnight Suns.

Jennifer Nelson and Gabby Saldivar each drove in a run and scored.
