More patrols needed on Nowell Road

Letter to the editor

For the past week or so, I have been reading the police and fire report in the newspaper. Is it just me, or is there a huge increase of vandalism and car rifling?

Sound off on the important issues at

I noticed in Thursday's paper that a truck was stolen. For the past week there have been several cases of rifling and acts of vandalism on Nowell Road, where the truck was stolen. My question is this: How is this not preventable?

It seems to me that if cars are being broken into along a street for days at a time, it is probably the same person doing it. You would think the police would patrol the area more frequently to catch this person. It has gone from rifling, to theft of belongings, to now stealing a truck.

What else is it going to take to put a few extra patrols on the area?
