University and Jazz and Classics to hold Community Day

JUNEAU - The University of Alaska Southeast will join Juneau Jazz and Classics for the annual Community Day on Campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at UAS.

The free event features musical performances by middle and high school students, DIPAC touch tank, hula dancing, lego league fun, kettle korn, fry bread with Wooch Een, balloon creations with Jeff Brown, the Southeast Road Runner finish line, Juneau Arts and Humanities Council quick draw competition and weather permitting pony rides. UAS offerings include ceramics demonstrations and alumni and admissions outreach booths. Andy Kline will be on hand with a remote from Excellent Radio, 100.7 FM.

Festival ticketed events begin at 2 p.m. with a family concert, "Red Dogs and Pink Skies." Jazz performances with the Butch Thompson trio are set for 5 and 8 p.m. For more information, visit
