Juneau Dance Unlimited registers for summer program, Fine Arts Camp

JUNEAU - Juneau Dance Unlimited is registering students for the summer 2008 program, including Fine Arts Camp, special workshops and classes. The program schedule, information, and registration forms are available at www.juneaudance.com.

There is still space available in the majority of the Fine Arts Camp classes, which begin June 2 at the Juneau-Douglas High School.

Dance workshops throughout June, for ages 11 to adult, will feature ballet, modern and hip-hop. An evening modern dance workshop with Kathryn Alter, a member of the Limón Dance Company, will also be held in June.

"Taste of Dance" summer series, held every Friday night throughout the summer, will feature ballroom dance instruction for adults and teens and will include a different type of dance every four weeks.

Creative movement and studies in movement for 4- to 6-year-olds and hip hop classes for ages 8 to adult will be taught during the month of July.

A two-week dance intensive, taught by members of the Weber Dance Company based in Boston, will be offered Aug. 11-22. The dance intensive will include separate sessions each day for students ages 9-12 and 13-adult.

All workshops and classes will be held at the JDU studio located at 8420 Airport Blvd, Suite 202. Class registrations can be faxed or mailed to the JDU office.

JDU is nonprofit organization providing the Juneau community with dance instruction and performance opportunities throughout the year. JDU celebrates its 33rd anniversary this year. For more information, call the JDU office at 463-5327.
