Thanks to volunteers at Easter Egg Hunt

Posted: Friday, May 23, 2008

The Zach Gordon Youth Center's 24th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 22 was yet another immensely enjoyable occasion that saw almost 400 Juneau youngsters collect their share of more than 6,000 candy filled eggs and go home with of a special bag of toy prizes (marvelously put together by ZGYC employee Donny Burras) as an extra treat for each of them.

Although we had to deal with snow on the ground and rain falling from the sky at Adair-Kennedy Memorial Park, the egg hunt still went off without a hitch thanks to the tremendously appreciated contributions from the following individuals who generously volunteered their time and effort to see to it that all of the kids left our event with great big grins on their faces. Kudos to Timmy Flood, Dora Joven, Michelle Joven, Nikola Juris, Becky Clark, Jessica Hadfield, Hannah Ives, Kelly Isell, Andrew Kreuger, Christina Reitz, Nels Sanford and Sara Sanford.

We would also like to give thanks to Juneau Community Schools for allowing us to use the comfortably warm and dry gym at Floyd Dryden Middle School as a convenient gathering spot for the egg hunt registration and prize hand-out. Thank you once again to all of you - as well as to anyone else whose name we might've unfortunately overlooked.

We look forward to hosting the Grand 25th Anniversary of the Zach Gordon Youth Center's Easter Egg Hunt in 2009.
