Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Domestic violence:

• Police arrested a man, no age available, in the Douglas area on a charge of domestic-violence assault after they responded at 11:54 p.m. Monday to a caller who hung up without leaving information on the 911 emergency line. They lodged the suspect at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


• Two homemade flower boxes were reported stolen at 1:26 p.m. Monday in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway in the Lemon Creek area.

• Binoculars were reported stolen at 1:38 p.m. in the 8100 block of Poplar Avenue in the Mendenhall Valley.

• A combination television and DVD player, a case containing 15 DVDs and 50 compact discs, sunglasses, a personal digital video player and alcoholic beverages were reported stolen from a boat at 9:21 p.m. Monday in the 11700 block of Glacier Highway in the Auke Bay area.

• Marine fittings, belt pouches and loose change were reported stolen at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday from a 1989 Ford truck that reportedly had its window broken out near Savikko Road in the Douglas area.

• A backpack was reported stolen at 7:26 a.m. from a 2000 Honda Civic that reportedly had its window broken out near Savikko Road.


• Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on a charge of concealing merchandise at 3:08 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue downtown.

• Police arrested a 24-year-old man on a charge of larceny after responding at 6:56 p.m. Monday to a shoplifting incident in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue. They lodged him at the state prison.

Vehicle accidents:

• Police cited a 17-year-old boy on a charge of failure to stop at a stop sign after an accident at 12:12 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of Harbor Way downtown. The boy was driving a 1993 Toyota truck that sustained an estimated $100 in the accident. The other vehicle, a 1996 Subaru Legacy, was driven by an 18-year-old woman. Damage to the Subaru was estimated at $3,000.

• Police cited a 27-year-old woman on a charge of driving without a license after an accident at 7:31 p.m. Monday in the 3700 block of McGinnis Drive in the valley. She was driving a 1994 Chrysler that reportedly struck a 1993 Toyota pickup, driven by a 30-year-old woman. Damage to the Toyota was estimated at $5,000. Damage to the Chrysler was estimated at $500. Police impounded the Chrysler.

• Police cited a 19-year-old man on a charge of negligent driving after a single-vehicle accident at 6:59 a.m. Tuesday in the 5000 block of Glacier Highway in the Lemon Creek area. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to the Chevrolet he was driving.

Hit and run:

• At 10:13 a.m. Tuesday, a 1996 Volkswagen Passat was reported to have been struck by an unknown vehicle in the 300 block of Willoughby Avenue.

• At 10:36 a.m. Tuesday, a 2000 Ford F250 was reported struck by an unknown vehicle somewhere in the Juneau area.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited an 18-year-old woman at 8:39 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of underage drinking in the 1200 block of Glacier Avenue downtown.
