Where a first lady belongs?

Letter to the editor

While watching "Our Alaska," the weekly television show paid for by the office of the governor, I was disturbed to see that this week's topic featured an apron-wearing Nancy Murkowski in the kitchen. The obvious historical reference to "a woman's place" and the happy homemaking first lady of, say, the state's earliest years, was distressing. But more troubling was the knowledge that in this time of fiscal crisis, the governor and the staffers who made the decision to pay for the production of this show - and the multiple times it will air - are fiddling while Rome burns.
