Bills signed into law

Gov. Frank Murkowski signs two bills into law during an assembly Monday at Auke Bay Elementary School. House Bill 467 establishes a Commemorative Coin Commission. An amendment written by JoAnn Jones' fifth- grade class makes it possible for home-school students to be included on the panel. The second bill, House Bill 93, sponsored by Rep. Bruce Weyhrauch, R-Juneau, creates a steady funding source for boater education programs - such as "Kids Don't Float" - for the state. Witnessing the governor's signature are Maria Weyhrauch, class representive for Mrs. Jones, and Student Council President Devin Bertholl.
