Our teachers are back-seat heroes

Letter to the editor

I can remember when we used to carry our children on our shoulders. Now we stand on their shoulders to see the future. Our children's education should always be on top of the list, because one of them will be a leader some day.

Sound off on the important issues at

We need better treatment of our teachers. It sure is amazing to let a teacher teach our children for five years then say they are not qualified to teach; this is very unfair for our teachers. Our children should have the best of everything.

I wonder who taught our present leaders of education. Our local government sure can use a refresher course on common sense; it would save millions of dollars for our education.

One would think we would leave the head-butting to the rams. Our children's education should not be a question. I, for one, am very proud of our teachers; they pave the way for our children. To all our teachers here in Alaska and the nation, thank you very much.

Common sense is endless; it is used every day of our lives.
