Genevieve Carson, a 2002 Juneau-Douglas High School graduate, graduated on May 19 cum laude from Chapman University in Orange, Calif., with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance performance. She was named Best Student Choreographer and the Outstanding Senior in the dance program. Carson was a member of the JDHS dance team and participated actively in highland dance. She is the daughter of Tom and Cheri Carson.

One of the first participants to enroll in Juneau Therapeutic Court completed the intensive 18-month program and is the second to officially graduate from the program.
The program began in July 2005 and currently has 15 participants, the majority of them charged with felony driving under the influence. Juneau Therapeutic Court hearings are scheduled at 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday in Courtroom B of the Dimond Courthouse and are open to the public. Megan Treston, of Juneau, made the 2007 spring semester dean's list at the University of Portland. Treston is a sophomore majoring in nursing. Students need at least 3.5 grade-point average to make the dean's list.
