Oh, good. John Edwards is explaining himself again. We're more and more enjoying his explanations. Like when he explained that yes, he is in fact a big-bucks consultant for a Cayman Islands hedge fund, but it's only because - just-plain-folks mill worker's son that he is - he wanted to research the hedge fund business. That was a good one.

Now he's explaining his storied $400 Hollywood haircut again. Previously, you will recall, Edwards had explained that he had to settle for the $400 haircut because he was on the road and pressed for time and couldn't manage the just-plain-folks $1.50 cut he usually gets from Joe Bob down at the general store. Now, though, his explanation is that he had nothing to do with any of it. "I wasn't personally involved," he explains. "Other people arrange these things."

Isn't that pretty much exactly what Paris Hilton said to the traffic judge?
