ANCHORAGE - A 23-year-old Anchorage woman has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 6-month-old boy in her care.

Police on Monday arrested Christina Moua.

Anchorage Police Lt. Dave Parker says Caiioun Xiong was dropped off for babysitting Friday morning by his parents.

Investigators say they believe Moua shook Caiioun and hit his head, causing life-threatening injuries. The boy was taken to a hospital with head trauma. Life support measures were withdrawn Monday morning and he died.

Moua is to be arraigned Tuesday. Her bail is set at $50,000 cash.
