An

article in Friday's Empire about the Juneau Community Charter School paraphrased a parent who used the analogy of adopted and biological children to say the charter school should be treated the same as other schools in the Juneau School District.

The use of the comment was not intended to be offensive or to perpetuate stereotypes about adopted children or their parents, and the Empire regrets any inference that adopted children are not thought of in the same terms as biological children.
