Keeping an eye on Mother Nature

From left, U.S. Forest Service naturist and interpreter Janice Miller Moss, Naomi Seidel and Robbie Piehl watch carefully as a cinnamon-colored black bear wanders by Sunday near the Mendenhall Glacier. Moss said the bear, which apparently was not afraid of humans, appeared to be a 2- or 3-year-old. After a few attempts to cross the bridge, the bear opted to wade the river and disappeared into the woods.
