Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• At 2:19 p.m. Tuesday, a man reported a backpack valued at $75 was stolen near Glacier Avenue.

• A 3:44 p.m. Tuesday, a woman reported that sometime since Sunday a portable compact disc player valued at $29 was taken from her unlocked Volkswagen van near Marine Way.

• A woman reported the theft of $60 worth of software at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday near Renninger Street in Lemon Creek.

• A woman reported at 10:47 a.m. Wednesday her son's silver bicycle was stolen near Nowell Avenue in Douglas. The bike had clear handlebar covers bearing a flame design.


• A man reported at 4:31 p.m. Tuesday that his Mark Alan Street residence in Lemon Creek was broken into. Nothing was reported taken, but property damage was estimated at $250.

Vehicle accidents:

• A woman reported at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday that she was driving a Ford van that accidentally struck a bicyclist on Glacier Highway and Anka Street in Lemon Creek. The bicyclist told police he was not injured.

• A 2004 Honda allegedly rear-ended a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday on inbound Egan Drive near Harris Harbor. Damage was estimated at $3,000.

Hit and run:

• A woman reported at 8 a.m. Wednesday that her 2001 Honda Accord sustained $2,000 in damage from an unknown motorist who struck her car's front bumper on Douglas Highway.

•A woman reported at 9:31 a.m. Wednesday that her 1997 Dodge Caravan was stuck near Nowell Avenue in Douglas by an unknown vehicle. The accident caused three scrapes to the driver-side front quarter panel.

Traffic stops:

• Police cited a woman, 41, on a charge of driving without a license at 2:19 p.m. Tuesday on Glacier Highway and Wire Street near Twin Lakes. They released the woman but impounded the vehicle she was driving.

• Police cited a man, 23, on a charge of driving without a license at 9:29 p.m. Tuesday on Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek. They released him but impounded the vehicle he was driving.

• Police cited a woman, 30, on a charge of driving without a license at 10:08 a.m. Wednesday on Glacier Highway and Channel Vista. They released her but impounded the vehicle she was driving.


• Police arrested a man, 30, on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief at 10:58 p.m. Tuesday near South Franklin Street. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Lost property:

• A man reported at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday that he lost a gray nylon wallet the previous night near Third Street in Douglas. The wallet and its contents were valued at $260.
