Marvin a 'Legend'

Juneau resident Carl Marvin has been named an Alaska Airlines Customer Service Legend, the highest honor bestowed upon an Alaska employee.

Marvin, a 45-year veteran of the airline, received the award for his outstanding service to customers and fellow employees, especially members of the airline's flight attendant group, who nominated him for the honor. He works as an aircraft caterer as part of the airline's ramp service team.

He joined the airline in its early days, following in the footsteps of his father, who had worked on the airline's float plane operations. Over the years, he saw many changes but never lost his enthusiasm for his job, according to coworkers.
