Juneau-Douglas ends season by splitting Sitka doubleheader

The Juneau-Douglas High School junior varsity softball team ended its season Friday by splitting a doubleheader with Sitka's junior varsity at Melvin Park.

In the opening game, Juneau-Douglas routed the Wolves 7-2 as Peyton Millay went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Kalea Chapman doubled and scored, Megan Mauseth hit a single and a triple and Alyssa Hulbert went 1-for-2 with two runs scored in the win. Also for the Crimson Bears, Amy Bergman singled and scored.

Sitka won the second game 8-4.

Chapman led JDHS with a single, double and two runs scored.

Mauseth went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, Lourdes Andes doubled and scored while Hulbert and Hailey Pusich each singled in defeat.

Mauseth and Chapman combined to strike out four batters and allow four hits for JDHS.
