FAIRBANKS - Brian Rogers has been named to the permanent post of chancellor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
University of Alaska President Mark Hamilton made the announcement Tuesday, saying Rogers is the right person for the job. The 58-year-old Rogers had been serving as the interim chancellor since April 2008.
Rogers has a long involvement with the university, serving for eight years on the Board of Regents and working as vice president of finance from 1988 to 1995.
As chancellor, Rogers will earn an annual salary of nearly $263,000.
