Motorcyclist's death ruled a homicide

WASILLA - Alaska State Troopers are investigating the death earlier this month of a Wasilla motorcyclist as a homicide.

The body of 22-year-old Scott L. Johnson was found May 15 lying face down in a lane on the Parks Highway.

His motorcycle was found stashed in the bushes with its engine not working. His helmet had been placed on the handlebars.

The death was initially reported as a hit-and-run, but troopers later called it a death investigation until autopsy results were returned.

Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said Tuesday the cause of death was not being released at this time.
