Juneau police, fire officials, hospital officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts, lost/found items:

After receiving a third-hand report of shoplifting about 3:30 p.m. Friday, police contacted a boy, 12, and consulted the management of Fred Meyer. The management confirmed property stolen. The boy was arrested for theft and lodged at the Johnson Youth Center.

Police received a report about 1:30 a.m. Saturday that a 1980 red Ford pickup had been stolen downtown. They sighted the stolen vehicle four minutes later, outward bound on Egan Drive. The suspects were two males, the driver, 19, and a passenger, 21. Both were charged with first-degree theft. The driver was additionally charged with driving with a revoked license and with sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. They were lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Warrant arrests:

Minutes before midnight Friday, police arrested a woman, 21, at a bar on Front Street on an outstanding Juneau Police Department warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation. She was lodged at state prison. Alcohol was involved in the incident.

Shortly after midnight Friday, police arrested a woman, 21, on South Franklin Street on an Alaska State Troopers warrant for felony assault and failing to comply with conditions of probation. She was transported to and lodged at state prison. Alcohol was involved in this incident.

Fires:

Capital City Fire & Rescue received complaints about 9:30 p.m. Friday from neighbors on Trafalgar Avenue who smelled smoke. The source of the alarm was wood chips added to a gas grill. There were no injuries.

Other:

Shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, police conducted a stop on a vehicle at Glacier Highway and West Ninth Street. They arrested a boy, 15, for driving without a valid operator's license and then released him to his mother at the scene. The vehicle was released to the owner, 16 (no gender given).
