Word of mouth

Posted: Sunday, May 28, 2000

My name is Dick Behrends. I live directly across from Era Helicopters at Twin Lakes. I applaud what they have done to alter their flight patterns. Today, Saturday, the noise from the outer drive is more present than from the helicopters, but I choose to live here knowing that.

I was calling to say that I think it's really ridiculous that we have people coming to our door on a Saturday trying to get people to sign a petition about the helicopters to the glacier, claiming it's too much noise. I think it's really retarded. It doesn't bother me at all. It sounds like background noise. These people need to grow up.

Big kudos to Fred Meyer and to Glacier Gardens. I found out the other day that Fred Meyer purchases all their flowers from a local business, Glacier Gardens, and I think that's wonderful corporate cooperation.

What a snob professor Bill Brown is. He insinuated in his latest column that the person who criticized him in Word of Mouth was too stupid to have a large vocabulary.
