Man arrested on assault charges

A man at a Thane Road campground was accused of attacking two people Sunday evening, cutting one man under his chin and cutting a woman on her left hand.

Juneau police found the suspect by following a trail of blood from one campsite to another.

The 45-year-old man who was cut under the chin identified the suspect, who was sitting at a campsite when police found him. With the suspect was the 37-year-old woman who was cut on the hand.

Eric Morrow, 46, was arrested on charges of first-degree assault, domestic violence assault and resisting arrest. The charges are punishable by up to 36 years in prison and a $560,000 fine.

He was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center with no bail.

The victims were transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital by Capital City Fire and Rescue Department personnel, police said. They were treated and released.
