Alaska gas averages more than $4 a gallon

ANCHORAGE - The American Automobile Association said the average price of gas is approaching the $4 mark - with Alaska averaging more.

Alaska, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Washington, Wisconsin and West Virginia all averaged more than $4 per gallon on Wednesday.

The average is $3.944 a gallon.
