Class of 1967 plans 40th reunion in August

JUNEAU - The Class of 1967's 40th reunion will be the weekend of Aug. 17-19.
"We are trying to find contact information for our former classmates, so we can let them know about the reunion," said reunion co-chair Walter Soboleff Jr. "We're hoping to get email addresses so we can contact folks without having to spend a lot of money."
Organizers have confirmed reunion events, including a cocktail party at the Juneau Yacht Club on Friday, a dinner at the Thane Ore House on Saturday and a picnic at Sandy Beach on Sunday.
Anyone with information about members of the Juneau-Douglas High School Class of 1967 is encouraged to e-mail communication co-chair Mike Noel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Troutt to give dance clinic Friday, Saturday
JUNEAU - Brittany Troutt, Clippers Spirit Dance Team and Rhetorical dance company member, will teach a hip-hop clinic for ages 12 and up from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at JRC The Alaska Club in the valley.
Cost is $45 for both days or $25 per day.

McCloud offers book signing, presentation
JUNEAU - The Friends of the Juneau Public Libraries will host graphic novelist Scott McCloud, author of "Making Comics," "Understanding Comics" and "Reinventing Comics," in a "Exploring Art through Comics" presentation and book signing from 7 to 9 p.m. on June 7 at Silverbow Inn.
McCloud's stop in Juneau is part of his Making Comics 50 State Tour. More information available at www.scottmccloud.com. All ages welcome. Free tickets are available at the public libraries. Any tickets left will be available at the door at the event. Donations accepted.
