Exceptional, playful pets seek good homes

Mandy is an exceptionally amorous little ferret. And when say "exceptionally" we mean that she will literally kiss you on the nose if you let her. Mandy is 2 years old and up for adoption at the Gastineau Humane Society, along with her other charming ferret friend, Whiskers.

Salem is a friendly fellow who adores a gentle scratch behind the ears and a warm lap to curl up in. He is a 1½-year-old neutered male cat with a eyes that shine with kindness.

Jack is a lab who hasn't been able to curb his excitement for tennis balls. Jack is an amazing 6-year-old neutered lab who will make a great pet for someone who is willing to work on his endearing obsession.

Dante is a 7-year-old neutered male lab with a soft spot for belly rubs and knack for fun. He is the kind of guy that would love to trek up to the top of Thunder Mountain and then go to a barbecue at Sandy Beach. If you are looking for a hiking partner with a big heart and a perpetually wagging tail, then visit Dante at the Gastineau Humane Society.

You can visit these pets 3-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday or 2-5 p.m. Saturday.
