Posted: Friday, May 30, 2008

JUNEAU - The Juneau Urban Forestry Partnership will be hosting its annual Arbor Day celebration at noon Friday, May 30, at the Cope Park entrance on Calhoun Avenue.

As part of the celebration, JUFP will plant nine trees and dozens of shrubs and perennials to enhance the entrance to the park. Bring your gloves and a shovel and join in with fellow community members to improve our community. The celebration will include tree planting workshops, reading of a city Arbor Day proclamation, refreshments and the opportunity to get your hands dirty during the lunch hour.

Current members of JUFP can pick up their free 18-inch tall red oak at the event. For more information call, 789-4528.
