Many thanks go to all the volunteers that participated in our spring stream clean-up day on May 10. Each year with partner with Litter-Free during their Juneau Clean-up Day, and we send groups out to pick up garbage from local streams and beaches in Juneau. A huge thanks goes to all of our participating organizations: the Glacier Valley Rotary, Alaska Brewing Company, Turning the Tides, Marine Conservation Alliance, Nature Conservancy, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Southeast Alaska Conservation Council, Girl Scout Troop 31 and 32, and the Cub Scouts.
Thanks to Goldbelt Inc., McDonalds, Temsco Helicopters, Don Abels, R&S Pumping, the Southeast Alaska Conservation Council, Wal-Mart, Pepsi-Cola Company, Gross Alaska Cinemas, Nugget Alaska Outfitters, Landscape Alaska, Mark Kelley Photography, Perseverance Theatre, Thane Ore House, Udder Culture, Juneau Fly Fishing Goods, Alaska Brewing Co. and the Alaskan Hotel for your generous donations. Many thanks also go to all the great folks at Litter- Free Inc., Duck Creek Market and Juneau Friends of Recycling for their great work. A very special thanks goes to Capital Disposal for all of there help, time and support.
Local volunteers picked up over 52,000 pounds of trash for Juneau Clean-up Day 2008, and next year we hope to pick up even less. Let's all work together to keep garbage out of our creeks and rivers, so we can keep the fish in! Many thanks to all of our volunteers and supporters.
