Thanks for help with foster parent dinner

Posted: Sunday, May 30, 2010

The Office of Children's Services and the Juneau Foster Parent Licensing team would like to thank the following people and agencies for their help with the 10th annual Foster Parent Appreciation Dinner:

Thank you Wal-Mart for the generous Community Grant. Without your help this event would not have been possible. This is the second year that you have made the foster parents feel appreciated.

Thank you SYSCO Food Services, especially Southeast Manager Brian Jenson and Sales Associates Kirk Stagg and David Anderson who prepared the meal.

Thank you Tlingit and Haida for funding Jeff Brown and his balloon animals. They were a big hit with the kids.

Thank you Steve and Luke Heppner for all your hard work, from prep cook to cleanup.

A special thank you to Kayla Brown, Tavyn Gentry and Shannon Bluett who generously donated their time with set-up and breakdown and whose face painting was the hit of the party!

Thank you to all of the OCS staff and their families who helped and participated in this event.

But of course, our biggest thank you goes out to all of our wonderful foster parents whose love and compassion for Alaska's children is demonstrated everyday as they work to keep our children safe in our communities. We appreciate everything you do.
