The Juneau Assembly Finance Committee on Wednesday gave the Juneau Economic Development Council a $45,000 boost.
The council asked the city for $183,000 this year. Assembly members had agreed last week to provide $100,000.
But Assembly member Frankie Pillifant suggested that $45,000 in additional funds come from the city's rainy day fund. JEDC Executive Director Lance Miller said the money will be used to leverage outside support for programs, produce community indicators information, and a brochure to promote Juneau.
