SITKA - A sport fishing guide operating in Southeast Alaska has been cited on a charge of aiding clients in violation of a fishing law, Alaska State Troopers said.

Rory O'Connor, 23, of Marysville, Wash., also was cited on a charge of unlawful possession of illegally taken king salmon.

Troopers in Sitka on May 22 contacted the charter vessel Prospector.

Troopers said clients of the vessel had more than their allowable limit of king salmon.

Four clients had 12 kings and the possession limit is one.

Troopers said the clients had left the state when the violations were detected, but the investigation is continuing.

Eight of the 12 king salmon were seized.
