Team of injured vets take aim at McKinley

Posted: Monday, June 01, 2009

ANCHORAGE - A group of warriors is taking aim at Mount McKinley, most of whom have been wounded in battle.

David Shebib had an improvised explosive devise go off in his face. In 2005, Marine John Kuniholm lost his arm during an insurgent attack in Iraq. And Matt Nyman has a prosthetic leg.

The group has spent the last year climbing other mountains in preparation to taking on North America's highest peak. Marc Hoffmesister said they hope to inspire other soldiers who have been wounded.

The expedition begins Monday and is expected to take three weeks.
